Who Am I ???

*I was a Kentucky bred, owned and bred by the same powerhouse farm.

*I won 64% of my lifetime starts, and 78% of those wins came in stakes races.

*My first career defeat came when I ran 2nd as the heavy favorite in New York’s premier juvenile race.

*I never ran in the Kentucky Derby, but I once was favored in a grade 1 race at Churchill Downs.

*My Hall of Fame conditioner no longer trains, but he remains very involved in the sport of horse racing.

*I was ridden by the same Hall of Fame rider in all but two of my races.

*Finishing 9th in my final career start at Saratoga, I was beaten by two future Eclipse Award winners, who finished 1-2.

*I won my first five starts by an average margin of nearly six lengths.

*Appreciated by the bettors, I was favored at 8-5 or lower in every start excluding my first and last race.

*My Eclipse Award was the result of my first of two seasons on the track.

*As my name would attest, I had absolutely no fear of the dark.

Who Am I ???

*A homebred with impeccable breeding, I was not a son of the bluegrass.

*I won just a shade under half of my starts while winning a grand total of nine stakes races.

*My sire and his sire lost less races in their combined careers than I did in any one of my three seasons of racing.

*I never ran in the Kentucky Derby, but one of my initial stakes wins came at Churchill Downs.

*Both my owner and my trainer are members of Racing‘s Hall of Fame, so is my most regular rider.

*My final career race was on the grass, but that was not the norm.

*I won stakes in each of my three years on the track, but two-thirds came in one season.

*My greatest rival and I faced each other ten times over three seasons, and I got the better of him four times.

*I was a multiple stakes winner at each of the three major New York racetracks.

*My Eclipse Award was the result of my 2nd season on the track.

*Not to sound overly boastful, but everyone wishes they had me.

*Sired by a Horse of the Year, I was bred in Kentucky by my owner.

*I won just a shade under two-thirds of my starts while only finishing out of the money once, and that was the result of an injury.

*Well traveled, I won stakes races on the East Coast, West Coast and the Midwest.

*My victories came at a distance range of ten furlongs between the shortest and the longest, my losses ranged nine furlongs.

*I was a stakes winner at six different tracks, but my first and last both came at Aqueduct.

*My jockeys, including the Hall of Fame ones, liked to wear polka dots.

*My Eclipse Awards were the result of my 2nd season on the track.

*I once carried at least 130 ponds in six consecutive starts.

*My sire won a double digit amount of stakes, and I won quite a few more than he did.

*My greatest rival and I evenly split our four contests over two seasons.

*Despite my name, I was born, bred, and raced in the USA.

Who Am I ???

*I was bred in Kentucky, but I did not race in the Blue Grass State until my 47th career start.

*Although I ran on the dirt more than 30 times, turf was the surface which I raced on the most.

*If you know anything about me, you would know who my two favorite characters on Grey’s Anatomy are.

*My greatest career victory came on a dirt track at Santa Anita.

*Well traveled, I won races in three of the six countries in which I competed.

*I went winless in my first season of racing, as well as my last, yet I still managed to take home a winner‘s check in six separate years.

*My Eclipse Award came right after my 6th season on the track.

*I won less than one quarter of my lifetime starts, but I finished in the money more times than most horses ever race.

*My sire won a double digit amount of stakes, with his biggest coming in the Met Mile.

*Rarely on the lead early, I was known for my closing kick.

*My trainer had two first names, one a woman’s, and one a man’s.

Who Am I ???

*I won just under half of my lifetime starts, and I won at least twice in each of my four seasons of racing.

*I was bred in a country where I never once ran, even though I competed in four different nations.

*My mom majestically soared over the water, but my dad preferred things dry.

*I failed to be competitive and cash a check only once in my career. Unfortunately, it was in the richest race I ever ran, and also the longest.

*My last six races were all grade/group ones; I won the first, but lost the rest.

*I raced at 11 different tracks, and other than in Paris, I never raced at the same place twice in a row.

*Never afraid to carry weight, my average impost was just a shade under 127 pounds.

*It was more of the usual in my final career start, as I came running late.

*I spread out my three most important victories, with one in each of my final three seasons.

*My victories came on two different surfaces, although I won ten times as much on one surface than the other.

*Interesting tidbit on my trainer and jockey … they shared the same initials.

Who Am I ???

*Bred in Florida, I was a champion who was sired by a member of the Hall of Fame.

*I either finished 1st, 2nd or last in ever single start … 75% of them were wins.

*My winning streak of ten races was at seven different tracks and never at the same place two races in a row.

*The year I won an Eclipse Award, my conditioner also took home an award as Outstanding Trainer.

*In my first try around two-turns, I was beaten by a nose, giving ten pounds to a future Sprint Champion.

*Eleven of my wins came in stakes, three of those were of the grade 1 variety, with my first grade 1 victory coming at Monmouth Park.

*All of my wins occurred east of the Mississippi, with Arlington Park being the farthest west.

*In my championship season, I may not have been the top horse in the barn, but I did have a better record than him with 8 wins in 9 starts.

*All of my victories came in one-turn races within the range of five furlongs to one mile.

*Greatly cherished by my connections, I gave them everything I had on the track.

*I was retired after winning my final career race, unfortunately I suffered a bowed tendon in the process.

*I won just under half of my turf starts, as well as, nearly half of my starts on dirt.

*My biggest win came in another country, but the majority of my wins were in California.

*I won at least two races in each of my four seasons on the racetrack.

*My career tailed off at the end, retiring off of five consecutive defeats.

*After my win in a maiden claiming race, I never won another race at less than a mile.

*Many say I live a pampered life; I prefer to think of myself as born to be special.

*I was trained by two different men, the second of which had me for my final 26 starts.

*No fewer than six of the racetracks where I ran, have closed, no longer offer thoroughbred racing, or have been renamed.

*I was a stakes winner in each of my four seasons of racing, and I finished in the money 33 times.

*I once had odds of longer than 130-1, but I was 8-5 or lower in my next five races.

*I was not a consistent winner, but all but one of my victories came in graded stakes.

*The first four victories of my life came in the West, Midwest, East, and South.

*I had more stakes wins in the Land of Lincoln than any other state.

*The average winning margin in my graded stakes victories was four lengths.

*Not blessed with great racing luck, I unfortunately became known for my bad trips including in the Breeders‘ Cup.

*Right or wrong, I always felt it was my broodmare sire that sent me down a questionable path.

*Since my retirement, I have resided in New York, California, and Kentucky.
