- I've been going to the races and following the horses since before I can honestly remember. For example, my best recollection of being in the stands for Secretariat's amazing run in the Belmont was not the race, but the stands shaking so much beneath my feet. Quite an experience for a little guy who just turned 4! Two of my favorite fellow handicappers are my brother and my father. My one year old daughter is already showing signs of loving the horses :>) My favorites...how about Wajima, Spectacular Bid, Fancy Naskra, Five Star Flight, Christmas Past, Princess Rooney, Lady's Secret, With Approval, Paradise Creek, Sunday Silence, Unbridled, Skip Away, Free House. Musket Man and Rachel Alexandra, just to name a few.

Sorry to hit it so quick. I got it when I red the sire info (Caro is my 2nd favorite so I knew that was him instantly) and the Ice Hockey clue was what had me typing Golden Pheasant without having to search. Awesome horse. Owned by Gretzky and Gretzsky was the cover boy on ESPN magazine when my horse racing tattoo backpiece was in it with a 2 page spread. So I had just too many hunches and connections and love on this one. Yo Marti - LEADER!
next week I'll be busy - so I won't play - how about that? Just holla if no one is getting it.

LOL, that's the game...Brian lays down the clues, and if you know it, you know it...shouldn't matter if you have to do lengthy research, or you get lucky and it's a horse you know WELL.

In Golden Pheasent's last year he was a private purchace by the Japanese. Bruce McNall and Wayne Gretzky (who McNall gave part ownership as part of his NHL contract payment) were out of the business by then.
