Nice rankings. Just to nit pick a bit, the only real thing I see is that I would put Evening Jewel up one.

LOL...if that is my only mistake, I did pretty well. I am not sure that they will take Evening Jewel off the turf for the Ladies Classic. If they do, she is a threat.

I find it kind of odd, Brian that on the same page you ask your readers for "the horse of the 2000's", you rank Zenyatta 3rd in the BC Classic. Even though Zenyatta gets 45% of a poll that includes many greats from the decade. Seems like you don't even listen to your readers . . . shame!

Shame? For not picking the greatest race mare in American history to win this year's Breeders' Cup Classic? I may be right, or I may be wrong, but there will be no shame.

The shame is you ALWAYS pick Rachel on top of ANY list and render Zenyatta 3rd, even though she's never finished 3rd in her life. Your Bias is so obvious!

Clearly you never read my Horse of the Decade article.

Brian, I like your blog and read it regularly. I also think it's OK to point out when you contradict yourself or act in a bias manner. Fact: Rachel Alexandra has had a disapointing season and doesn't continusly belong on top of ANY list right now. She HASN'T won a grade 1 race this season and got beat by ordinary horses: Zardana, Unbridled Bell and Persistently. You can claim that Zenyatta hasn't run against the best, but in the last 2 years, she's topped it off with a BC win. Why should this year be anything different. If Rachel was 18 for 18 then I wouldn't be writing this.

Tell me where I am contradicting myself ... these are my picks for races. I have my opinion and you have yours. Tell me where I said Zenyatta hasn't run against the best. Stop using the fact that I do not pick Zenyatta to win the Classic as an opportunity to call me biased. I have never said anything negative about Zenyatta. I think she is the greatest mare in history. If I thought Rachel was going to run in the Classic, I would not pick her either. My picks are picks. Agree or disagree, but the continuous lecture is not needed.

Brian, you are right about one thing: Picks are picks. I guess what I'm trying to say is it's getting saying all kinds of compliments about Rachel when she's faded away. Last year was her year. I think Bllind Luck is the best horse pointed for the BC Ladies Classic--based on what she's done this year, not because she's my favorite horse. I doesn't mean she will win, if anything, Blind Luck has an excuse to be worn out, Rachel should be fairly fresh. If Zenyatta loses at Hollywood Park, I'll be the first to say she's lost a step. But so far, she hasn't lost anything. No hard feelings Brian, and I hope that RA and BL put on a good show, racing needs geographical rivalrys! I respect your blog, it's just sooooo hard for die-hard Zen Zealots to endure two years of disrespect. Many of us feel that she should have won the HOTY the last two years. But it might have been a good thing, because she didn't, we got to see her perform an extra year. (handshake)

Accepts handshake!
