Who doesn’t love a good cliff hanger. A film that holds you gripped in suspense until the very end when the thrilling climax is revealed. Usually the hero comes out on top, that is, if it is a typical Hollywood script. I’m here to tell you, Zenyatta is pure Hollywood. I’ve seen this film over and over again, and I can't help but be sucked in every time. |

OMG I just love it , just like Z it was perfect!
I don't love it. Irks me, actually. I think it was in poor taste of the Breeders' Cup to not just try and ride the Secretariat movie's coattails, but to trump the film and, in the process, sort of disparage the horse himself. ... We all know how the "tremendous machine" footage ends, and it sure ain't by being caught at the wire by a deep closer. Not from 1973, nor 2010.
Old school and new school collide, and ... here I am stuck in the middle again.
"She got me again..."! hahahaha! Loved it!
Don't Worry Brian, she gets us all think that same thing sometimes, lol.
Brian, after all that write-up, are you sticking to your preciction that Zenyatta will not win the BC Classic? I was there at Hollywood, trust me: ZENYATTA IS THE GREATEST HORSE EVER!
Thanks Joani! Mark, I'm glad that you got to see her. I think there is a difference between not picking a horse as my top selection, and saying that they will not win ... and I will have my new rankings out soon. ;-)
OK Brian, looking forward. BTW, Andy Beyer was booed in the Hollywood Park paddock Saturday. It's a shame that Oprah is doing more for this sport than Awful Andy.
Your video was awesome!!
Her acceleration at Hollywood Park on Saturday can only be fully appreciated by those who saw it with their own eyes. One moment it looked like she might be laboring. The next, she's flying like a heat seeking missile. It was quite breathtaking. Final sixteenth in 5.7 seconds with ears pricked. Astonishing.
Final sixteenth was Zenyatta like ... Not my video, it was done by the Breeders' Cup.
Wow Glenn Craven, they're promoting a race and they did an awesome job doing it, don't see how they're disparaging the film, if you notice, it is actual footage and not the movie. Produced by Bold Ruler no less, where's your sense of humor? I hear a lot about 'how to promote horse racing' and I'll tell you it's that right there - it's hip and powerful and edgey. Everyone knows big red was 'cool', how many horses today are thought of in that manner? There's the excitement of Secretariat and the film coming out but lets not forget that at this time we need not just look to the past to generate excitement, we need to show how exciting it can be now. I don't think anyone will be forgetting big red anytime soon but showing people we've got a potential 'herstory' to go with 'history' was well done in my book.
