Oaklawn Park is set to announce that the $5 Million Apple Blossom Invitational is back on. It will be moved from April 3 to Friday, April 9 to accomodate the request of Rachel Alexandra's connections. Both connections have agreed to run. |

Really!!!!!!! What will 6 more days of rest do, though?
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Jess Jackson, go Rachel Alexandra
Sorry momentary excitement, lol. My last comment cut off some of the O's in my Whoo :)
WHOO HOOOO yea Oaklawn !
I can't wait to hear Brian's take on this development.
Exactly. What is 6 days going to do?
These two camps have got my vote for the lousiest, ego-centric, attention grabbing owners the sport has ever seen in my 25 years of following horse racing.
Please people.
Enjoy the weekend without being taken for a ride. ;-)
im thinking this is more of a ploy by the Jacksons to show the fact that raich is the bigger draw. We have seen Z in the apple blossom. Also I got a feeling that team Jackson is going to push for a speed favoring track on the east coast such as Pimlico Del Park and Mommouth and avoid Delmont a closers track just a thought
You really have to wonder what exactly Mr. Jackson is trying to do. Rachel Alexandra is my favorite horse in a long time, but...
Brian - elaborate please. I actually think 3 vs. 4 weeks rest is decently significant when you're talking about today's TB's. I think if anything JJ looks better then the clearly bitter Moss's.
I think the six additional days between races, to benefit the horses, is overshadowed by how it happened...Jackson saying if you don't do it my way, I am not coming. I do not care for that kind of posturing.
Brian, how concerned are you about Rachel's fitness level getting ready for April 9?
mvlach77, I expect her team to have her ready for the big race and have no reason to believe otherwise. She should have at least six works before the Fair Grounds race and then 27 more days after that to reach a high fitness level.
