Down and Derby c13

A quiet week at Down and Derby Central with no changes among my Top 20. Things will change next week with considerable action, highlighted by the first major prep in California, the Robert B. Lewis Stakes. Expected entrants include American Lion, Tiz Chrome, Hawaiian Springs, Dave in Dixie, and Caracortado. For now, I will concentrate on recent works for the horses on the big list. 13 weeks/91 days/2,190 hours…

I love the Derby updates! Keep them coming! Also, who are your favorite 3 y/o fillies this year?

Thanks Sarah!

My favorite 3 y/o fillies right now are: 1) Blind Luck 2) She Be Wild 3) Christine Daae 4) Hot Dixie Chick 5) Biofuel.

Who do you like?

Nice list, yet again. With no real big derby happenings this week theres not much you can do to change it. Personally I cannot wait for the Robert B. Lewis and the battle of the Tiznows. Personally, there is just something about American Lion that I really like, so in a race between him and Tiz Chrome I'd go with American Lion.

Beverly Lewis next week should determine the order of a couple of these.Tiz Chrome looks nice but he may not be a distance horse even though he has the breeding. Only 6 horses running.

Turf Chatter,
What makes you think Tiz Chrome can't go the distance? From what I've seen he's never shown any signs of tiring. Tiznow and AP Indy in his pedigree would really sujest distance.

Great list. Seeing the workouts all together is really helpful. Other than Noble's Promise and the ones that have recently raced, it's interesting that Lookin At Lucky has the biggest workout gap.

Watch out for Drosselmeyer and Pulsion tomorrow... both could make serious jumps!

I agree LDP, I think Tiz Chrome will be good stretching out.

HRN, you got that right. Tomorrow's allowance at GP is very interesting, with the two you mentioned and a few others as well.

I'm intrigued by Christine Daae, and I love the name! I also want to keep an eye on Biofuel. I think the results at the BC would have been much different if she hadn't been bumped off course. I know it's a lot to hope for, but I'd love to see another year with strong fillies.

Tiz Chrome, has what I call a "fast" stride he get into full motion very quickly these horses are usually not good horses to stretch out. I could be wrong. Especially on Poly reaching full stride very quickly can be tiring. We will see next week.
